Frequently Asked Questions
Does Watchman PM do construction?
No, we don't perform construction work ourselves. We serve as your advocate and representative throughout the construction process, managing general contractors and specialized vendors on your behalf. Our expertise lies in project planning, GC and vendor selection, quality control, and overall project management to ensure your vision is realized.
How is Watchman PM different from a general contractor?
Unlike general contractors who perform and manage the actual construction work, we serve as your independent representative. This allows us to provide objective oversight, hold contractors accountable to commitments and quality, and make recommendations based solely on your best interests rather than construction profit margins.
Isn't hiring a project management firm an unnecessary added expense?
Our services typically save clients more than our fees through rigorous budget management, prevention of costly mistakes, strategic value engineering, and effective contractor negotiations. Most importantly, we provide peace of mind and significantly reduce the risk of the expensive problems that commonly occur in commercial construction projects managed by those without specialized expertise.
Where does Watchman PM provide services?
While our headquarters is in Colorado Springs, we manage projects throughout Colorado and have the capability to serve clients nationwide. Our team's expertise in commercial construction and SCIF specialization translates across geographic boundaries, allowing us to deliver exceptional results regardless of project location.
How does Watchman PM maintain relationships with contractors while representing owners?
We believe in respectful, collaborative partnerships built on clear expectations and accountability. By establishing transparent communication and fair processes, we maintain productive relationships with contractors while vigorously representing our clients' interests. This balanced approach actually improves project outcomes, as contractors appreciate our organized, professional management style that helps them perform at their best.
